Our Strong Communities

1. Shared Governance

For every infrastructure project (well, school, micro-grid), MAGA conditions its intervention on the creation of a “Management Committee” elected by the villagers.

  • Their Role: They decide on schedules, collect micro-fees for future repairs, and appoint technical managers.
  • Our Role: We are merely technical advisors. The ultimate owner is the community.

2. The “Guardians of Water”

In many regions where we operate, women are the primary resource managers. MAGA launched the “Women in Tech” field program.

  • Training: We specifically train women in solar pump maintenance and seismic-resistant masonry.
  • Impact: Studies show that infrastructure maintained by women has a 40% longer lifespan. They are the pillars of our strong communities.

3. Creating Local Value

A strong community is an economically vibrant one.

  • Local Materials: We do not import bricks or cement if we can manufacture them on-site. We buy locally to inject project funds into the village economy.
  • Entrepreneurship: The electricity we provide enables the creation of new businesses (refrigeration, welding workshops, phone charging stations). We turn aid into investment.
